Individual Field Schedules
In 2008 MARC Schedules and maintains five athletic fields: Hess field Upper, Hess field Softball, Hess Field Baseball, Hess field middle and F.Q. Hartman. MARC began managing fields in 2005 and has the following goals:
A system of Recreation - MARC believes that Athletic fields are most effectively used and maintained as a system. Acting as the “Clearinghouse” for fields, MARC can instantly check the availability of all fields in the “system” and suggest the best fit for each user.
Pay for what you use - MARC believes that Athletic fields are heavily used by some and potentially used by all. This is why we ask the heaviest users, ORGANIZED TEAMS, to pay a small fee for the hours they use the field. This RESERVES the field for the desired time and the funds are used to keep the fields in good condition. MARC DOES NOT CHARGE USERS FEES TO GENERATE FUNDS. Fees are calculated on a “break even” basis. Each year the fees are reevaluated and adjusted up or down to maintain a zero balance in the field maintenance account.
Public fields for all - MARC believes that Athletic fields should be free for public recreation, a pick-up game or varied individual use. Dedicated fields for specific clubs are a financial burden to most groups and limit the access of these facilities to the general public. MARC’s encourages the general public to visit and use the athletic fields when not scheduled for use by teams.
